#EQ3Spotted: Jag and Agata’s Townhouse on Design*Sponge

We spotted this on Design*Sponge last week…

It’s EQ3’s Reverie Sofa in Klein Wheatgrass!

This sofa takes pride of place in the living room of Jag and Agata’s West Coast townhouse, in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. Jag is a designer and illustrator, running her own business Page 84 Design in Vancouver. Much like her designs, Jag’s home features clean lines and bright pops of colour throughout. The Reverie’s mid-century modern design is a natural fit in the home, blending seamlessly with Jag and Agata’s eclectic furniture and accessories. The Wheatgrass upholstery was a gutsy move (one that would scare off many a homeowner), but it really works. In fact, it’s almost impossible to picture the sofa covered in anything else.

Check out Design*Sponge’s article Sneak Peek: Colorful Minimalism in a Canadian Townhouse to see the complete tour of Jag and Agata’s home.

Thanks Jag, Agata and the Design*Sponge team!

#EQ3Spotted: Jeffrey’s Colourful Mid-Century Living Space

Kathryn, our design consultant at EQ3 Emeryville, sent over these interior shots of her client Jeffrey’s home. The space is bright, lively and chock full of colourful furnishings – a refreshing departure from the various shades of grey, beige and greige that are often seen in North American homes.

In the living room, Solo Chairs in yellow speak to Jeffrey’s fearlessness with colour. He kept the look classic by introducing other clean-lined, modern furnishings from EQ3, like the Marble Coffee Table, Scout End Table and Byrd Chair.

In the adjacent dining room, a pair of red EQ3+ Vitra Panton Chairs make an equally colourful statement, creating a sense of balance between the two spaces. A chunky EQ3 Harvest Bench and red Frame 3-Tier Shelf sit opposite the Panton Chairs. The shelf was cleverly put to use as a music station, complete with retro record player, record albums and an EQ3+ Design House Stockholm Block Lamp. The overall effect is playful with loads of personality. Thanks for the tour, Jeffrey!

#EQ3Spotted: Kate’s Vintage Mod Living Room

We were thrilled to receive an email from Kate with photos of her favourite EQ3 purchase in its new home.

She had treated herself to a Reverie Sofa upholstered in Key Largo Teal for Christmas last year, but shortly after making the purchase, Kate moved into a new apartment with living room walls painted a deep robin’s egg blue. At first she thought the room’s wall colour would be too vibrant with her teal sofa, but she decided to work with it by balancing the bold teal tones with other strong elements, like the asymmetrical wall art gallery that hangs above the sofa. A whimsical selection of patterned toss cushions and vintage accessories (like the old typewriter and ceramic lamp shown below) reinforce the Reverie’s mid-century modern design.

She loves the look now. And, so do we!

“The sleek mid-century teal Reverie seems to like the wall colour. It was really a perfect fit for the modern/vintage mishmash that is my living room.”  – Kate, homeowner

Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us, Kate!

We love seeing how fans are using and enjoying the products we design, manufacture and sell, so we wanted to devote a little corner of the web to photographs that show just that.

Enter #EQ3Spotted – a new blog series that takes you inside the homes of actual EQ3 customers! Our hope is that these sneak peeks inspire your future design and decorating projects, and encourage you to create beautiful spaces fit for modern living.

To start this series off, we’re stepping inside Steven’s stunning Toronto home.

EQ3’s Reverie Sofa is a customer favourite – and ours too.

Steven sent us these pictures of his living-dining room last week, just one day after his new Reverie Sofa had arrived. To say we were speechless is an understatement. The new sofa is perfectly at home in his cozy living room, which features a rich palette of cream and brown with warm wood tones. Bright orange accents lend a fun, yet sophisticated vibe to the space, while a carefully-edited selection of accessories personalize the space and compliment the room’s modern furnishings.

EQ3’s Cast Lamp is a fun alternative to traditional overhead pendant lighting.

In the dining room, Steven used the Cast Floor Lamp to cleverly light his dining nook area, which lacked a ceiling fixture. The lamp’s arched design bends over the dining table, providing much-needed task lighting. It introduces an unique element to the space, and is more affordable than adding new electrical.

Great job, Steven! Thank you for sending in these beautiful images.
